Shimla

Day 01 : Arrival Delhi, transfer to Shimla

Shimla was the summer capital of The British India and most of the lords of the British Empire used to spend their time here. The old British architecture of the city can be seen in many places. On arrival we’ll check in to the hotel and relax for a while. In the evening you can stroll around the famous mall road. Retire for the night at hotel.

Day 2 Shimla to Narkanda

The drive to the upper Himalayas will begin after breakfast. The drive to Narkanda would have Kufri and Fagu on the way. Kufri and Fagu are the snow spots of Shimla during winters. You can visit the fun world, the zoo and enjoy at Asia’s highest Go-karting ground. A visit to the famous Deshu Mata Temple is also an option which has 500 steps stairs. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali. Retire for the night at hotel.

Day 3 Hatu Peak Narkanda

On day 3rd of our Shimla Tour you’ll visit the famous Hatu peak of Narkanda. Hatu peak is the second highest peak (3400 m from sea level) in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh and surrounded by conifer, oak and maple trees dense forest. The peak gives enchanting views of meadows covered in snow. After Hatu peak proceed to Sarahan (80 kms) where you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Enjoy the peaks while paying homage to Shrikhand Mahadev in the close vicinity. Retire for the night at hotel.

Day 4 Sarahan

Early morning we will take a walk around town, followed by breakfast. Then we’d leave for Sangla in Kinnaur district and on the way visit Sarahan Bhimakali Mata Temple and enjoy the Front View of Shrikhand Mahadev if the weather is clear. Continuing our drive to Sangla, we’ll reach in time for evening tea and enjoy the crisp twilight zone. Later we’d have delicious dinner and spend evening at leisure. O/N HOTEL

Day 5 Rakcham

Early morning witness the beautiful Nature in its glory followed by breakfast. Enjoy the beauty and adventure of Sangla Valley to the fullest on 5th day of our Shimla tourism. We’ll drive to Chitkul, a pretty and last inhabited village on the Indo-China route. You can try your hand at Rock Climbing, Rappelling and River Crossing – extra charges may apply for some of these. Sangla is known for its day hikes. Those looking for mild-adventure can join the Raksham walk that takes you along rivers, through meadows and forests and over glaciers. And for the adventure junkies, there is challenging meadow walk that will make you seek a masseuse at the end of the day after all the hard work. You explore the pretty villages around, and sit on the bank of the Baspa River. Later enjoy delicious dinner. O/N HOTEL

Day 6 Rakcham to Kalpa

After breakfast, we’ll leave for Kalpa. Enroute we’d visit Kamru fort and Peo market and then check-in to Kalpa Hotel. You can spend the evening by admiring the Kinnaur Kailash range. It’s abode to famous Kinnaur apples; its lush green orchards along with snow-capped peaks give immense pleasure to eyes. The Kinnaur Kailash Mountain also holds spiritual value and is considered sacred by Hindu and Buddhist Kinnauris. Retire for the night at hotel.

Day 7 Kalpa sightseeing

After breakfast we’d have a full day tour to the village of Kalpa. The Roghi village, suicide point, the Vishnu Narayan temple, Kothi temple, the Buddha Mandir, and the Chini Gompa are the places in our bucket list. You can also purchase world class dry fruits from here like almonds, walnuts and chilgoza from the Reckong Peo market. Retire for the night at hotel.

Day 8 Kalpa to Nako

After breakfast we will leave the lush green valleys and enter the raw and barren desert after travelling further on NH21. The highway straddles along the mighty Sutlej River with picturesque villages in and around. From Khab village near indo-tibet border we’ll take a turn towards Spiti and reach the last village of Kinnaur-Nako. Spend the evening sitting near the Nako lake. Retire for the night at hotel.

Day 9 Nako to Tabo

We’ll visit the famous Nako Monastery and travel to Tabo via Nako Lake. Enroute you shall visit the famous abode of The Mummy at Geu, an age old preserved dead body of a monk whose hair and nails still grew – a belief amongst the locals. Continuing our journey to Tabo we’ll reach there by evening. Retire for the night at hotel.

Day 10 Tabo to Kaza

Early morning we’ll travel to Kaza via Dhankar monastery and Pine Valley. Though Kaza is just 60 km, we will take a few detours to reach there. First, we would visit – one of the world’s top ten monasteries- the Dhankar Gompa and the famous pin valley, the region of several trekking paths. Retire for the night at hotel.

Day 11 Kaza sightseeing

Kee monastery (or Ki or Kye Gompa Monastery) is again one of the best monasteries of the region and the Komic Village is the World’s highest village with a road. The quintessential places will definitely be remembered by you even after tour. Retire for the night at hotel.

Day 12 Kaza to Chandrataal

After an early breakfast, we’ll drive to Chandra Taal or Chandratal. It will be the best drive of your life. The name Chandra Taal originates from its crescent-like shape. That is why it is often referred to as ‘Moon Lake’. The lake located in the upper hills of Spiti makes you feel closest to nature. Asleep in the tents with nature overlooking the stars will make the moments more special.

Day 13 Kaza to Manali

We leave at dawn for Manali for yet another memorable day of driving via Rohtang Pass. We will drive along and over rivers, cross glaciers, and bump along undulating tracks. It may be dusk when we’d reach Manali – where we’ll celebrate the last day of our Shimla tourism. Enjoy a dinner and evening at leisure. Retire for the night at hotel.

Day 14 Manali to Chandigarh

Last day of tour is spent in exploring Manali. Then it is time to head back home. We’ll part ways with a promise to meet again.
